This Level 2 course is designed for those ready to roll up their sleeves and dive into the nuts and bolts of machinery that powers farming, forestry, and environmental industries.
Our 850-acre Brooksby Estate with working on-site farm is the perfect place for those wishing to study Land-based Engineering. With expert lecturers and practical workshop spaces that are second-to-none, Brooksby is the place to be for budding Land-based Engineers.
Modules include:
- Health and safety for the land-based industries
- Land-based engineering workshop practices
- Transmission and driveline operation principles
- Engine operation principles
- Fabrication, cutting and joining
- Land-based vehicle electrics
- Hydraulic systems
- Land-based vehicle and machinery operation
- Working in the land-based engineering industry
4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English and Maths OR a relevant Level 1 qualification and Entry 3 Functional Skills
Our Land-based Service Engineering students leave us career-ready, so many of our students enter Level 3 apprenticeships or go straight in to work with local or national dealerships.
