Radmoor Nursery Celebrates 30 Years of Exceptional Early Years Education and Childcare

Radmoor Nursery, based at Loughborough College, has proudly celebrated 30 years of supporting children, families, and the local community, marking the milestone with a special open house event this weekend.

Opened in 1996, the nursery has grown alongside generations of families, adapting to changes in early years education while remaining committed to high-quality care, inclusivity, and community wellbeing. Over three decades, Radmoor Nursery has consistently received ‘Good’ Ofsted ratings and maintains a five-star food hygiene rating, reflecting its strong standards and dedication to children’s development. 

The anniversary event welcomed families past and present, staff and community partners to reflect on the nursery’s history and achievements. Staff also celebrated several team members who this year marked 30 years of service, and the setting having had only two managers in its entire history.

Danielle Shipley, Nursery Manager, who has led Radmoor Nursery since 2018, reflected: “Radmoor Nursery is a truly special place. Over the last 30 years, we’ve seen huge changes in early years education, but our values have always stayed the same – putting children and families first. 

“I’m incredibly proud of our dedicated team, including staff who have been with us since the very beginning. Many of the strong relationships we’ve built with families have spanned generations, with children attending whose parents once attended the nursery themselves!”

The nursery is recognised for its diverse and inclusive environment, celebrating cultural and religious events throughout the year, and for its active role in community fundraising and charity initiatives. 

Radmoor Nursery has also played an important role within Loughborough College, supporting students through placement opportunities for those studying childcare, health and social care, as well as work experience for local school pupils.
